SolarQuotes.ca respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices. It applies to information collected through our website, calculators, and quote-request forms.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us — name, email, phone, postal code, address, and any project details you submit through a quote or calculator form.
- Project information — answers you provide in the solar calculator (roof type, monthly bill, appliances, etc.) so we can produce your assessment.
- Technical data — IP address, browser, referrer, and pages viewed, used to operate and secure the site.
How we use it
- To generate your solar assessment and matching installer recommendations.
- To forward your quote request to up to three installers in your area.
- To send you the report, transactional emails, and security notices.
- To improve the site, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.
Who we share it with
When you submit a quote request, we share your contact and project details with the installers you are matched to so they can respond. We also use trusted service providers (hosting, email delivery, payments, analytics) bound by confidentiality. We do not sell your personal information.
Cookies
We use first-party cookies for session login and basic analytics. You can block cookies in your browser, but parts of the site may not work without them.
Affiliate relationships
SolarQuotes.ca operates as an independent Canadian solar directory and earns revenue in part through affiliate relationships with our fulfillment partners. When a quote request submitted through our site results in a completed installation, we may receive a referral fee from the fulfillment partner who handled the project.
Our primary affiliate partner is Xolar Energy, our nationwide solar-installation fulfillment partner (see /about#partners for more). Additional partnerships apply to specialty verticals — Enerworks for solar thermal, Mitrex for BIPV / architectural solar.
Affiliate relationships never affect what installers we recommend, the price you pay, or the order in which installers appear in our directory. We only enter into affiliate arrangements with partners we would already route leads to based on service quality and geographic coverage.
Data retention
We retain account and lead data for as long as your account is active or as needed to operate the service and meet legal obligations.
Your rights (Canada — PIPEDA)
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing us. We respond within 30 days. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
